I want to encorporate handmade deails into every aspect of the wedding…even the food! Since I want to display and serve cupcakes instead of a wedding cake, I am LOVING these doily cupcake wrappers and they are soooo easy to make! You can find directions for them here.
And I love the idea of making a tiered cupcake stand with a base on the top big enough for a small cake to sit so that we will still have something to cut! Here are some great example…

I’m not loving these colors, but yout could decorate it in any you wanted. I’m thinking a solid color rather than a pattern would work better. With the cupcake decorations and wrappers, that pattern would be too busy.
And if you don’t want white doily wrappers, you can always dye them. I think I might try dying some of them blue and purple, but it might take a little experimenting to get the right shade. You can find the directions for this here!
I am also loving these bride and groom silhouette cookies. You can get them custom made for the couple from actual pictures. Though these are suggested for a bridal shower, they could definitely work at a wedding reception as well. They also might be neat to use as the cake toppers.
